V6 Nissan Frontier Desert Runner – turbo?
I have a 2001 V6 Nissan Frontier Desert Runner, and it’s the workhorse of my fleet of cars but I have been thinking about putting a turbo or a supercharger in it… I was wondering if anyone has had experience with installing such an item in my truck… what are the pros and cons… I would like a bit more of a punch when I drive but I also like my truck being a truck… I have been in a military hummer and those have turbos and those things are awesome for being such a heavy solid truck… what major problems can I be dealing with by putting this on my truck??
First off motor needs to be rebuilt for turbocharging or supercharger. Nissan supercharged trucks were not that much more powerful only 210 hp. My best recommendation is sell that old horse it is 8 years old. Purchase a new Desert Runner Nismo version with 4.0 liter 265 hp motor rockford High watt radio rancho shocks all wheel drive with VDC and Hill descent control. Crew or king cab you will be happy it uses the same amount of fuel as your old 3.3 liter truck.
