Very interesting and candid question. Deserves a very interesting and candid response. I have always paid close attention to the style and behavior of athletes, or in this case, NFL players. I just think it's a culture thing and black players are very responsive and swank more than whites.
I also think that white culture is a very determining factor in why players are penalized for celebrating in the end zone. I believe that you have a board of decision makers that are made up of a bunch of elderly and old-fashioned white men, or at least proportionately white, who decided they don't want to see black athletes showing off and being individually expressive.
Just another way of white America keeping the black athlete in his place, I suppose. I could be wrong but if I am, it's not far fetched.
